Natural ultra high Omega-3 Phospholipids, Astaxanthin & Choline content
RIMFROST krill oil is produced with exclusive commercial-scale processing technology, conducted at the gentlest conditions conditions. With the possibility to reach an impressive level of phospholipid concentration, RIMFROST completely renews the value proposition of Antarctic krill. It is the highest natural concentration on the market with no added extras. DHA/EPA are still prominent fatty acids found in the extract, but RIMFROST wants to highlight the importance of Phospholipids, Choline and Astaxanthin as well.
Krill oils vary greatly in terms of phospholipid, Omega-3 or astaxanthin concentrations despite consistency of these agents found naturally in krill.
New quality markers reveal the true quality differences in commercially available krill products, which are primarily determined by different processing methods. The powerful antioxidant astaxanthin can be found in varying concentrations, which is also a result of the type and nature of the processing method employed. RIMFROST Antarctic krill oil uses a gentle and rapid process to provide low oxidation and low levels of lipids degradation, shown by the new quality markers.
High levels of naturally occurring astaxanthin indicate a good quality krill extract.
Hydrophobic pyrroles are easy-to-measure (by spectrophotometry) oxidation products that indicate the degree of non-enzymatic browning reactions i.e. oxidative status.
High relative levels of intact phospholipid forms of phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) as well as low levels of degraded phospholipids (e.g. lysophosphatidylcholine) are good quality indicators.
